Torchwood coming back
BBC article here
What do you think? International Torchwood, saving the world.
While previous series were based on location in Cardiff, Wales, this new instalment will see storylines widen to include locations in the U.S. and around the world. John Barrowman and Eve Myles will return in their roles as Captain Jack and Gwen respectively, along with new faces.

I'm really loving this channel. It has Fringe which is wonderfully written and takes me back to the good old days of Mulder & Scully (you know, without the whole Alien thing), I was a bit impatient with Go! so recently got Season 1 on DVD. Every episode was fantastic. Friends of mine are downloading Season 2, but I'm trying desperately to be patient and just wait for it.
Also The Vampire Diaries wasn't bad (it's no True Blood) and it's showing episodes of the Sarah Connor Chronicles (Season 2 should be starting soon) and Moonlight - which of course was axed after 1 season.
I don't watch much tv anymore, due to the crappyness of it all, and I don't have foxtel (I generally just buy box sets of shows I want), but Go! isn't that bad at all.. when it's not showing crapola like The Bachelor. They also had Dune & Children of Dune on recently.
Re; True Blood... does anyone know if an Aussie channel has bought the rights to it yet?

I just got an e-mail from Sci-Fi on Foxtel. It announced that Demons
will be starting in August in its Australian premiere. Has anyone seen this or does anyone have any recommendations? Worth watching?
Demons is coming to SCI FI in its Australian TV PREMIERE! Luke Rutherford (Christian Cooke) is just your average teenager, until his dead father's best friend, Rupert Galvin (Philip Glenister) tells him that he is the great-grandson of the legendary Abraham Van Helsing. The vampire hunter. You what?!
Luke is now charged with the role of defeating the gathering dark forces of the world whilst trying to live the ordinary life of the modern Brit. With a team of odd bods around him, it's a rollicking adventure ride of good vs evil!

is a recent British show about a vampire, a werewolf, and a ghost who are housemates.
Friday 19 June 2009
Note that a pilot was made first, and then an entire season was commissioned, except with most of the characters recast. I believe what is airing is the first episode after that original pilot.

List: C/L-A-A TV Series
There are certain gems on tv, with low budgets, mostly unknown actors, and borrowed storylines. They tend to run in the same production circles too (common producers/directors, recycled actors, etc). For some reason I love these shows ! I think I just have a knack for remembering elaborate mythologies, like Marvel comics or whatever. They don't really have a common thread, but they sort of fall into a genre...... and i'm making a list!

Browncoat Booth @ Supanova
A friend of mine will be running two booths at this weekend's Supanova, so I'm helping spread the word:
Are you going to be at the biggest fan event to hit Melbourne this year?
Are you a fan of Firefly, Serenity and other Sci-Fi/genre television?
Then we’ll see you at SUPANOVA this weekend (March 27-29 at the Royal Showgrounds in North Melbourne – www.supanova.com.au)
Browncoats Downunder will be taking over two booths at this massive event, and spreading the Whedon joy.

So I have been having a hard time waiting to get 'my shows' on dvd from the US. So I was looking into HD because for some reason I thought there were different shows on the HD channels and maybe I could see 'my shows' sooner than waiting for the dvds. Alas, looking at the tv guide, there doesn't seem to be much difference.
So my question to you, is HD worth it or are we all doomed to know about awesome shows but not be able to watch them?

Enjoying new episodes
How many people here have managed to stay spoiler-free for shows like Dr Who, NCIS or Supernatural? Do you think that enhances the fun and suspense and is more like the show's creators intended it?
For the record, I have stayed spoiler-free for Dr Who but it has taken a lot of effort! :-)

Tonight on SBS, 7:40 Stockinger
. If you remember Stocki from the earliest "Inspector Rex" episodes, Moser's first sidekick, this is his spinoff after he went to Salzburg. I think it started either last week or the week before but I missed it.
I also noticed, on Ten HD, for those who can get digital, the pilot of Eureka
, 10:30 tonight.
